Wow, je sais vraiment pas quoi dire. Je te remercie d’abord d’avoir pensé à me l’annoncer. Je crois que tu es la première amie à qui ça arrive. Je sais pas vraiment quoi dire. Je suis heureux pour toi. Tu sembles vraiment heureuse, je suis donc heureux pour toi. C’est dingue, je crois que j’avais blagué il y a quelques semaines lors de ton premier email sur ça. Quelque chose du genre : j’ai une grande nouvelle. Rép : quoi té enceinte ?? Toutes mes félicitations. Je t’avoue que j’ai de la misère à suivre le rythme de ta vie : voyage en Asie, UQAM, et maintenant bébé. BÉBÉ !!! j’ai vraiment peine à le croire mais je suis très content pour toi. Aussi bcp de misère à croire qu’un bébé va habiter au 1239.

J’aurais bien aimé me faire une idée de que va avoir l’air ce bébé avant mon retour, mais je n’ai encore jamais rencontré le papa. À t’entendre, je suis certain que c’est un type bien. J’espère que la nouvelle est également accueilli avec joie.

Mon arrivée à Paris se passe vraiment bien. Parfois je me demande si ça se passe pas un peu trop bien. Je t’en donnerai des nouvelles bientôt. Merci pour l’invitation pour Noël. Je serai à Lyon, dans la famille de Yumiko - question de découvrir autre chose que Paris. En revanche j’accepte volontiers ton offre pour le jour de l’An. On sera de retour à Paris le 30 au matin et Yumiko et moi n’avons pas encore de plans pour le 31 au soir. Ce serais surréelle de fêter le Nouvel An avec toi à Paris !

Merci aussi pour l’offre d’aller à Bruxelle. Je compte y aller au courant de l’hiver donc oui, ça serais génial de sympatiser avec nos copines respectives.

Faut que j’y aille, j’ai une revue de presse sur la conférence de Montréal à remettre et présenter à l’oral demain matin, mais je te récris au courrant de la semaine.

Bonjour Michel, je voulais vous remercier, toi et Francine, pour le contact avec Kim Lefevre. Je t'ai envoyé un message il y a un mois, mais je crois que tu étais en voyage de camping avec Seb. Je voulais m'assurer de vous remercier, quitte à me répéter, pour l'appart.


Sébastien m'a annoncé que vous passiez une semaine en France en début décembre. Si votre horaire du temps le permet, il me ferait plaisir de vous recevoir à dîner un soir. Ça vous permettrait de voir comment on a réorganisé l'appart... On a, plus ou moins ingénieusement, trouvé le moyen de créer un certain niveau d’intimité tout en gardant un espace commun accueillant. Enfin, ça me ferait vraiment plaisir de vous recevoir à dîner ou souper.

J'ose espérer que vous allez pouvoir dîner avec Kim aussi. Je ne sais pas si vous êtes en contact avec elle ou son fils, mais elle ne va pas très bien. Elle a subi une autre opération il y a quelques jours. C'est la troisième en moins de deux mois. Elle devrait sortir de l'hopital d'ici une semaine.

Hey Ben, I have been wanting to write to you for a while and finally, I have a minute of peace. Its, hard in this city. Between the riots and cheap wine, one can barely find a moment in a week to think about the past and the future. Ok, enough of this philosophical bs, but I did want to let you know that I’m taking a fascinating history of ideas class. Every major new idea since Plato. Obviously can’t got into much detail, but it does provide a great sens of the evolution of western thinking. Oh and by the way, remember that argument we had on Julie-Anne rough top over good and bad of opening the book to random visitors, the time you called me a sophiste; well, after studying Plato’s ideal city model and his critics (Popper and Nietzche), you can call me a sophiste anytime….

That being said (what has been said?), Science Po is great. It is really different than McGill in its approach to poli sci. I think you would really enjoy the classes that I am taking just now. I strongly encourage you to follow through on that plan of yours to live in qc for a year and then try to get into the school, though you might find the fact that the institution ranked 69th worldwide on the Times educational chart. It would be great to have you around for that extra semester I have to spend at McGill.

On my own side, I kind of miss my Montreal routine and its been kind of hard to stay on top of things after the summer of debauchery that we just had. You can probably tell by the spurious structure of my writing. You are probably way out of that phase by now and submerged in finals and papers. So, I’ll put an end to this barf of words and ideas in a minute. Really just wanted to say hey and send you these two pictures I took in the elevator of the Eifel tower a few weeks ago. Kind of Jazzy, don’t you think?
